Privacy Policy
Introduction
Welcome to Resume Hack. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.
Resume Hack offers resume creation, optimization, and job application tracking tools. Our primary goal is to help you succeed in your job search while ensuring your data remains private and secure.
Information We Do Not Collect
Resume Hack is designed with a "privacy-by-design" approach. We do not collect, store, or process your resume data on our servers. All your resume information and job application tracking data is stored exclusively in your local browser storage (localStorage).
We do not:
- Maintain user accounts or authentication systems that store your data
- Track your resume content or job applications on our servers
- Use cookies to track your browsing behavior
- Sell or share your data with third parties
Information We May Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide and improve our services:
- Anonymous usage statistics (page views, features used)
- Error reports to improve functionality
- Optional user feedback you choose to provide
This information is collected in an anonymous, aggregated format and cannot be linked back to your specific resume content or personal information.
AI Data Processing
Resume Parsing with Cloudflare AI
When you use our "Import Resume" feature, your resume file is temporarily processed by Cloudflare AI services to extract structured information. Here's how this process works:
- Your resume file is sent to a Cloudflare Worker
- The Worker uses Cloudflare AI to extract text and structure from your document
- The processed data is returned to your browser
- The data is stored only in your browser's localStorage
- No copy of your resume or extracted data is retained on our servers or Cloudflare's systems
Cloudflare AI Data Policy
According to Cloudflare's AI data policies:
- Data sent to Cloudflare AI is not retained longer than necessary to provide the service
- Your data is not used to train or fine-tune AI models
- Cloudflare maintains strict security standards to protect data during processing
For users with heightened privacy concerns, we offer the option to manually enter your resume information without using the AI parsing feature.
Note: While we've designed our system to be privacy-focused, remember that any data processed through third-party services like Cloudflare is subject to their privacy policies and terms of service. We encourage users to review Cloudflare's current privacy policy for the most up-to-date information.
Data Storage & Browser Information
Local Browser Storage
Resume Hack stores your data exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This means:
- Your resume data remains on your device only
- The data is accessible only when you visit our website from the same browser and device
- The data persists between sessions until you clear your browser data
- We cannot access your resume data from our servers
Important Considerations
When using browser-based storage:
- Clearing your browser data will permanently delete your resume information
- Your data is not synchronized between different devices or browsers
- Private/incognito browsing sessions will not retain your data after the window is closed
- Browser storage has size limitations (typically 5-10MB)
Data Backup
We recommend using the export feature to save a backup of your resume data to your local device. This allows you to import and restore your data if needed.
Your Rights & Choices
Data Control
You have complete control over your data:
- View all your stored resume data directly in the Resume Builder interface
- Edit or delete any resume version at any time
- Export your data in various formats (PDF, DOCX, JSON)
- Clear all stored data by clearing your browser's localStorage
Opt-Out of AI Processing
If you prefer not to use the AI resume parser:
- Use the manual resume builder to enter your information directly
- Skip the "Import Resume" feature entirely
Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
